I would have posted this earlier, but I crashed the moment I got home and started watching Oofuri again, so sorry for the delay! ZK is in to do her report ^_^

I have to say this first - it was so cool to have a booth this time around for Lights Out 2008. We didn't make it last year even though we signed up back then, but this year the Snupin and the OgataxSai turned out great. aiah1999, osmalic and I took turns manning our booth, trying to get people to write down their favorite series and pairs for free bookmarks, and making certain people see kakyou024's wonderful art.

A shot of our disorganized table

It was really fun to talk to people and find out what fandoms we shared with them. At first I was nervous, because I wasn't certain what to say, but the guest book sure saved us! After all, if you share the same fandom, you can talk about anything! Speaking of the guest book, I just scanned through it and I found some interesting comments about pairings. I see people mention HP, Reborn (a LOT of Reborn), Naruto, Obata works and a couple of actual BL series. But to you - and you know who you are! - I'm not sure I can think we can wrap our thoughts around Pikachu involved in. Like. Yeah. ^^; Though if I find the link in 4chan for it I'll go send it right away.

The crowd goes around the different shops and watch BL at the same time

LO this year had a huge turnout. There were people and cosplayers outside by the time I came to the venue, and that was 30 minutes before they were selling tickets. The fun thing about this year's con is there were more guys in the crowd. I'm not certain if they were there because they're curious or they really like BL, but I hope their ears didn't bleed when the crowd went wild for Junjou and Irokoi.

an obligatory shot of osmalic and I manning our booth

^_^ I met a lot of interesting people this time because of all the socializing going around in and out of the booths. Though I wasn't able to catch most of the names because of the crowd, I'd like to say hello to all of you again and thanks for visiting our booth. ^_^

We were originally seated by forsaken_ground who had a really pretty doujin anthology. osmalic managed to snag a copy, but I was at the butler cafe when LO closed, so I didn't get my own personal copy! Much sadness! I hope to see them soon so I can squee over the bookmarks and pins.

What's LO without pair cosplay?

osmalic would have more pictures of the pair cosplays (at least, I sure hope so!) and of course, everyone were gracious enough to provide fan service and photo opportunities for the crowd.

A shot of the goods we displayed in our booth, taken afterwards. ^^;; We quickly ran out of the H/D bookmark halfway through the con, and it was really flattering that people would wait for it to be cut out just to get them. I managed to save this one because I was supposed to give it to the girl who had those cute chibi keychains, but I guessed I missed the opportunity. ^^;

Thanks for reading this post, and there are more pictures related to LO under my flickr account. Please comment or link if you would like to use them, and now I'm off to get me some Phoenix Wright!

Hi~♥! This blue_cage posting a very belated update about our participation in Lights Out 2008, happening tomorrow, Sept 6 at Balay Kalinaw, UP DILIMAN. We're all excited and a little nervous since this will be the first time we're actually going to have not one, but two releases.

The first would be something that must be familiar to those who'd been here before, which is the Snape/Lupin Resolutions with a sexy and seme Lupin doing one "Corridor Ambush".

The second one is a new work called Sides, a Hikaru no Go doujinshi featuring Ogata and Sai, and how they almost but not quite see each other. I'll try to append the color covers for both of them so you can all gape at kakyou024's artistic talent!

Anyway, if you'll be coming we will be sharing a booth there with several other doujinshi circles, namely Forsaken Grounds and Red Threads. The funny thing about this is we met Meru and Nami from Forsaken Grounds while osmalic and I were having the doujinshi printed today~♥ Isn't that a wonderful coincidence? I hope that tomorrow we'll get to chat with them a little more - we were kinda zoned out by that point! See you there!

This was supposed to be up last year, but I thought that the timing is okay now. We missed Snape's birthday, but we have a belated gift, and blue_cage, one of our members, is celebrating her birthday today. I kind of hope she's feeling somewhat Snape-ish. :D

Where: Stoffles Function Room, Hotel Rembrandt, 26 Tomas Morato Extension, Quezon City

The doujinshi we're selling are Harry Potter and Hikaru no Go, if all things go smoothly. All art are done by kakyou024sin and blue_cagezk. As of now, the prices are still undetermined, although we're making every effort to make it affordable--and therefore within the average Filipino fan budget.
